Andrew Bonneau, Rome Residency Awardee

Winning the William Fletcher Rome Scholarship was an extremely valuable experience and one that will continue to motivate and inform my work for many years to come.

Spending many, many hours drawing from ancient art in the Roman museums brought me closer to the source of much of later European art. The insights gained from interaction with other residents at the British School were also invaluable in understanding the multi-layered history of Rome, the culture that it inspired, and the artist’s role in relation to it.
