William Fletcher Residency in Rome: April – June 2011

The William Fletcher Foundation proudly announces a new biennial fellowship for emerging visual artists.

Valued at $A25 000, this fellowship includes 3 months accommodation in the prestigious British School at Rome (BSR), airfares and a living allowance.

Centrally located in Rome, the BSR offers a great opportunity to live in this timeless city, to study and be inspired by the extraordinary wealth of art and architecture from Ancient to Renaissance and Baroque Rome.

The BSR is an established centre for research on the archaeology, history and culture of Italy, as well as Italian contemporary art and architecture.

This unique fellowship is designed to provide space and time for an emerging artist to grow, reflect and learn not only from the great traditions of Italian Art, but also from the invaluable experience of living with other committed visual artists and scholars from other countries of the British Commonwealth.
